6-14-21 THOUGHTS

I was so encouraged yesterday.  Both of our worship services were so uplifting.  To go from 3 elders in our building doing our live-stream worship to 84 of us yesterday brought tears to my eyes.  Your singing was surely from the heart. The prayers, the preaching...  Then there was our communing with each other to remember our Lord’s death!  Thank you Lord.  We pray is was a sweet aroma in Your sight.

We find one of the first records of worship in Genesis 22.
Gen 22:3-8    So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him and Isaac his son; and he split wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. 4  On the third day Abraham raised his eyes and saw the place from a distance. 5  Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the donkey, and I and the lad will go over there; and we will worship and return to you." 6  Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son, and he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So the two of them walked on together. 7  Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, "My father!" And he said, "Here I am, my son." And he said, "Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?" 8  Abraham said,
"God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." So the two of them walked on together.

One heart here was confused, one heart was breaking.  If you read a little more in this area, the hints of God’s plan to save man are abundantly present.  The FAITH OF FATHER ABRAHAM...  MET WITH GOD’S PROVISION OF A SACRIFICE!  It’s just that simple.

Read the following several times.
Rom 5:8-11   But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9  Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. 10  For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11  And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.           WOW!
1Cor 5:7b      For
Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed.
Our faith...  God’s provision of His Son as our eternal passover lamb...   Simple!.
It is the essence of our life and worship!

My Prayer:
Thank you for your great love wherewith you loved us.  We see love as we hope for eternity with you O God.  It all comes from your grace and mercy.  Sustain our faith, and focus our lives!  Keep us from being double-minded or selfish, O Lord.  Help us to love you with all our heart, soul, and mind.  Thank you for Jesus,  as we pray in His name.       Amen
